Overview:

At 0730, Generalleutnant Karl von Tiederman's 207th Infantry Division was attacking to clear Wageningen and the Dutch defenses along the Grebbe Line just to the west. Attached to the 207th was the SS Der Fuhrer Regiment which Tiederman designated to lead the attack even though this was to be that regiment's first time in combat. Sturmbannfuhrer Muller's 1st Battalion formed the regimental schwerpunkt which struck the Dutch left where Lieutenant A. de Hasse's section was defending. This Dutch unit's nerve was already shaken from a heavy German artillery bombardment it had received the previous evening. Orchards, farm buildings and underbrush provided good concealment for the defenders, but obstructed the Dutch fields of fire, enabling the SS troops to advance unhindered. De Hasse's section soon fled back to the Kruiponder farm. Captain A. Zwarts tried to hold his 3rd Company together. . .
Attacker: German (SS) (Elements of 1. Bataillon, SS-Regiment "Der Fuhrer", 207. Infanterie-Division)
Defender: Dutch (1st Section, 3rd Company, 2nd Battalion, 19th Infantry Regiment and 3rd Company, 3rd Battalion, 8th Infantry Regiment, both of the 4th Infantry Division)

2021-02-19(D) Maurizio Mai vs Richard Vieira German (SS) winQuick and interesting scenario. Fire lines seems to be the only way to stop the Germans. Once the German went around the pillbox, the game was over.
2019-07-19(D) Richard Jenulis vs Greg Barsness Dutch winShort, fun scenario. Despite the Dutch win, I feel the scenario slightly favors the Germans. In our game the Dutch had a few lucky breaks that sealed the game, albeit, still close to the end. The 9-1 leader broke early, only to immediately HoB into a 9-2 just as the HMG moved into his location. A Berserk squad soaked up a lot of firepower. The remaining HS eliminated a full German squad in CC. And another squad battle hardened into a 4-5-8. Another CC behind the lines would allow a 4-5-7 to retake the wooden buildings on board 38. I would play this again.
