Overview:

On May 10, 1940, once the news of the German offensive was known, the British Expeditionary Corps entered Belgium with its units of mechanized cavalry leading its way. The regiments had a mix of Carriers and light tanks - very mobile but lacking “punch”. Their deployment along the river Dyle unfolded, however, without any hitch. Alas, with the French rout to the Meuse, the Allies started on the 16th a difficult retirement with cavalry as the rearguard. The 4th / 7th Royal Dragoon Guards, operated on the right wing in contact with the 1st French Armee adjoining. On the 16th, south of Waterloo, C Squadron crossed through the Algerian infantrymen of the 2nd Division, roughly pressed by the Landsers of the 7th Infantry Division.
Attacker: German (7. Infanterie Division)
Defender: British/French (13th Regiment de Tirailleurs Algeriens & 4th/7th Royal Dragoon Guards)
