Overview:

On the morning of the 14th, a French counterattack was ordered against the breach at Sedan in an effort to contain General Guderian's bridgehead on the river Meuse. The attack was to be comprised of two tank battalions, each supported by an infantry regiment. These two groups, however, were unable to co-ordinate with one another and so the attack commenced with only half of its intended strength. With the first of Guderian's armor across the Meuse shortly after dawn, his first head-on encounter with French armor was now imminent.
Attacker: French (213ème Régiment d'Infanterie, 55ème Division d'Infanterie and 7ème Bataillon Autonome de Chars de Combat)
Defender: German (Infanterie-Regiment 1 and Panzer-Abteilung 1, Panzer-Division 1 with Sturmpioniere-Bataillon 43)

2023-10-01(A) Todd Cox vs German winFrench units pretty constantly disrupted. Managed to take just one objective.

2022-07-26(A) Jeff B vs Joe Arthur German win5.25 hrsNo smoke grenades from any of my tanks kept my men from pouring onto the board too fast, wary of 2nd level shooters. With strictly green troops at my disposal, this is a delay I could ill afford. T2 saw me reach the 2nd Level of K8 with my kill stack, and fry a tank, but at the cost of a squad and LMG. Perhaps I should've thrown everything I had at reaching the VC buildings following this, but I felt I could not leave the Germans at my back in the upper stories of the chateau. So I spent the next three turns rousting them out, while only a small part of my force made its way east. By this time the T3 German reinfocements had made their way to the VC area, and losing one of my MMGs didn't help. Having green troops man these vital weapons sure didn't help, nor did failing a MC on a CE 1MT. I lost my other MMG on T6, and my two remaining tanks were too tied up trying to oust the Germans from V9. When one of these was lost driving into its cellar I felt that'd pretty much be the game, and I was right. When I lost my last tank, despite being HD, I threw in the towel after my T8. The green troops were just too much of an obstacle to overcome.
2022-02-04(A) Kevin Duval vs Dwayne Duval German winIt was a difficult push for the Green French but was looking pretty good until the German Turn 6 SPW251/10 came sweeping in to take out 2 AFV quickly. This stalled the attack & Germans prevented Control of 2nd building needed. Down to the last French MPh in desperate charge.
2021-12-28(A) A Fifteen vs Kipp Cozad German win
2021-03-26(A) Paul Works vs Scott Martin German winFun game! I moved my infantry primarily through the large orchard to slip around wall on that side of the board. My FCMs pressed up to his Pz-IIs. Was his crews entered the Pz-IIs, I broke one of the crews. His other Pz-II held up my FCMs for several turns. I did get around to capture one of the VC buildings, but he had his reinforcements in the other before I could get there. I did put a HS in his abandoned tank and drive it up by the other VC hex (fun!), but it was not enough. His 37L HT slowed my FCMs (and I broke one of their MAs (not fun). I just did not have enough juice and FP to get into that second VC building. Good game by Scott.
2021-01-01(A) Vilis Pavulans vs Stefan Fiedler German winA bit of bad luck in combination with a superior opponent makes a win quite difficult. All french AFVs out of the game by the start of game turn 3 and no german casualties made me lose my personal MC.
2020-06-06(D) Eric Topp vs Ron Oxford German winThe French infantry prevented the Germans from re-crewing one Pz but the French tanks were less impressive. Despite many shots, they only managed to immobilise the other Pz. The Pz prevented the French infantry from mounting an assault on the chateau. From their level 2 positions there, the German infantry stopped a board-edge attack on the VC buildings.
2020-05-31(A) Dan Best vs Paul Works German win
2020-05-31(D) Paul Works vs Dan Best German winNote: The (v2) scenario card says the German infantry set up within two hexes of the R4 building. This is in error; there is no building in hex R4. The v1 scenario card says building N4; makes sense, that's the chateau. We used that setup correction. I set up most of my infantry at level 2 in the chateau. This allowed me to interdict some of his entering units; I caused a break and got a wound on one of his leaders. Both Pz II crews were able to man their vehicles. One immediately bailed out after the tank was immobilized by one of the FCM 36s. The other Pz II caused major problems. It killed one FCM, then immobilized a second one. The third FCM malf'd its MA. My infantry in the chateau got a few good IFT shots off at several stacks Dan had moved up to suppress them. His two MMGs had several good shots, but ended up not getting any major results. Game ended on French half of Turn 6 with a German victory.
