Overview:
As the battle raged, especially west of the railway, the first to break through the powerful German screen was a group of 15 T34s from Major Ivanov's 1st Battalion of the 32nd Tank Brigade along the east side of the railway. Past the German defenses at Sovkhoz Stalinsk, the Soviet tankers passed the woods on the right of the railway and broke into outskirts of Komsomolets State Farm from the south.
