Overview:

Babau remained the key in West Timor. On the previous day, Australian troops threw Japanese Naval paratroopers out of Babau for a second time, allowing Sparrow Force a vital easterly retreat route from the large amphibious landing to their west. The Japanese defenders proved formidable, and the Naval paratroopers prepared a new blocking position in Oesau, about one kilometre to the east of Babau. Three companies from 2/40th Battalion began to reduce this position on the afternoon of 2 February. To ensure Sparrow Force could clear the position at Oesau, a rearguard action was prepared around Babau. The Aussies had to delay the veteran Japanese soldiers from the 228th Regiment who formed the amphibious assault.

2024-12-17(A) nathan wegener vs Wes Vaughn Australian winStarted very well Japanese rolled through the first line of defense. Opponent setup at the rear with a heavily defended foxhole line intending to just keep enough VC Locations to win. Japanese started slowly melting away. Typical result was that when I attempted a platoon overrun into a melee I crushed one of my berserk HS in the process :-(
2024-08-27(A) Diane Spangler vs Lawrence SpanglerA Australian win
2024-08-05(A) Tuomo Lukkari vs Victor Rosso Japanese win[Imported from ROAR]
2024-01-12(A) Dave Mareske vs Dennis Dowd Japanese winThe Third Day of the campaign game Sparrow Force was a minor Japanese win after taking heavy losses and the Australians able to fall back in good order. A final Banzai Charge did the Australians in at the end.
