Overview:
In August, 1943, fresh from their victory at Kursk, the Russians launched their Belgorod-Kharkov Offensive. Near the end of August, the Russian 5th Guards Tank Army was driving on Korotich in order to cut the Poltava-Kharkov rail line. Defending Korotich was the 2nd SS Panzer Division “Das Reich”. In the seesaw fighting, SS Tigers would go head to head with Guards SU-152’s. Fighting would center on the Kommunar State Farm, which would be taken by the Russians on August 26th with 10 SU-152’s. As night fell on the 27th, the SS Tigers counter-attacked once again.Attacker: German (SS) (2nd SS Panzer Division "Das Reich")
