Overview:

The Allies drive to secure the port of Brest was being slowed by Ramcke’s 3rd Fallschirmjager Division, elite veterans of North Africa, with plenty of artillery support. The hilly countryside split by numerous hedgerows, was terrain that favored the defense. The ridges around the town of Lambezellec formed an excellent defensive perimeter around the harbor, and thus were heavily fortified against attack. On this day the heroic actions of PFC Ernest Prussman would lead to a collapse of the defense in this area and earn him the Medal of Honor.

2022-12-07(D) Jeff B vs Magnus Rimvall German winRarely do my plans work as perfectly as they did here. I played a very strong up front defense, with three squads on the SW hill to strongly oppose any American approach from that way. The Americans paid the price when they lost a squad in their direct assault, with another breaking. Next turn saw the Americans fall into my mortar trap in the far west, causing them to re-route to a more central approach. In the east the Germans lined the trees with bodies, while their sniper took down another American squad. But the coup de grace was when the American reinforcements piled all at once into my AT gun's bore sighted hex. When they broke to the man and failed to rally it was game over.
2019-07-24(D) Michael Rodgers vs Erik Lindblad German winGive the American balance, as we did. American loss was helped by many failed MC. SSR Hero did not appear until turn 4.
2013-07-15(D) X von Marwitz vs Alex Koestler German winNice little scenario where the fun for the German starts when puzzling together the setup and layout of the fortifications. In a way the hedges are similar to bocage, but not quite. Important to keep in mind the little differences. German Defences were as follows: Trences C2, D3, F6, H6, 2/3/5PB D2 CA E1, 1/5/7PB E6 CA F4, 2/3/5PB G7 CA H8. ATG atop Trench in D3, MTR in Trench F6. The plan was to delay any US push through the eastern woods, set up on the western hill with enough force to discourage a direct assault by the US turn 2 reinforcements and set up the Guns to cover as much of the hill masses as possible with some extra ground level terrain. Anchor point fo the defence being F6. All in all, the plan worked out though it was helped by some sneaky losses that allowed some hurt on the US. A mild breeze coming up made things a little more tricky regarding the Smoke which was on board during our game.
2011-10-07(A) Bob Callen vs Stephen Flicker American winGood game, typical Scjwerpunkt action, won on CC roll at end (had very good odds though, was not a 50/50 iirc)
2010-01-30(D) Jeff Waldon vs Frank Tozier German winFtF
