Overview:
After heavy fighting, Panzer-Division 1 forced the forward elements at Chagny to withdraw to Omont. In the early morning hours of May 15. the 3e Spahi Brigade was ordered to the village of La Horgne to slow the advancing Germans. The defenders dug in and prepared for the onslaught with 2e Régiment de Spahis Algériens deployed in the village of La Horgne and 2e Régiment de Spahis Marocains in the overlooking hills. Advancing along the forested roads from Singly, battalions from Schützen-Regiment 1 and Panzer-Regiment 1, Panzer-Division 1, came upon the defenders around 0900 and immediately deployed for assault.Attacker: German (Kradschützen-Bataillon 1 and Panzer-Abteilungen 1 and 2, Panzer-Regiment 1, Panzer-Division with Bataillon I, Schützen-Regiment 1)
